Our Special Needs Patients

Child Hugged by Her Mother

The DFC staff understands the importance of accommodating each patient that visits our offices. We also know that many parents are looking for a dentist for a special needs child. That’s why our pediatric dentists, as well as the rest of our team, have undergone extensive training that allows us to provide dental care for children of all ages—including those with special needs.

Your child will benefit from the care provided by our special needs dentists in Weymouth, MA, all of whom were trained in hospital-based specialty programs. We are experienced in managing and coordinating care with our medical colleagues.

Furthermore, our pediatric dentists have hospital privileges at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Not only that, but we are also faculty members of the Department of Dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Our goal is to create a supportive environment that helps your child develop a positive and healthy relationship with our dental care team. Our special needs pediatric dentist works with all of the following patients:

We Also Offer Children’s Hospital Dentistry

DFC is proud of our ability to successfully treat the majority of our patients in our office without the need for oral or IV sedation. However, for patients with extensive dental needs (typically treatment which requires four or more visits), and who are unable to cooperate in our office, hospital dentistry offers a safe, efficient alternative.

If hospital dentistry is necessary, our hospital treatment coordinator will make the needed arrangements and assist you with your insurance. If you have any questions about hospital dentistry or think that it may be necessary for your child, please contact us.

In a hospital setting, our pediatric dentists provide the dental procedure while a board-certified anesthesiologist administers and monitors general dental anesthesia.

Trust Our Team

Each of our pediatric dentists has undergone extensive training in hospital dentistry and maintains their certification through the latest in continuing education. This combination of experience and education allows us to understand the complexities of our patients’ needs, resulting in the best possible care.

Our pediatric dentists have hospital privileges at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Not only that; we are also staff members of the Department of Dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital. In fact, many of us received our pediatric dentistry training here in the Boston area, at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital.

We proudly serve families in Weymouth, MA, as well as those throughout the South Shore.
